Sleeper Cell Computers started with a simple question from a friend: “How cheaply can you make my son a gaming computer for his birthday?”

What seemed like a relatively simple question resulted in a deep dive into the rabbit hole of the computer manufacturing industry—and the exorbitant profit margins they charge their customers. While these profits may not technically be a crime, they don’t exactly fill you with faith in humanity either.

At Sleeper Cell, we decided to change all that.

The company’s founder managed to build his friend’s son a state-of-the-art gaming machine for a price that even he found hard to believe. With major computer manufacturers evidently inflating prices as a matter of course, Sleeper Cell’s path was now set—to produce affordable gaming computers that combine high specs with low prices. We wanted to give high-performance gaming back to the community that fueled its inception in the first place.

So where did the name come from?

With our founder being a U.S. Military Veteran (we could tell you his exact role but we’d have to kill you), a military-sounding name is perhaps unsurprising. However, it represents a far more fundamental aspect of what the company stands for.

The name "Sleeper Cell" was coined during the initial phase of the business, when old business towers, their best components, and new graphics cards were transformed into high-performance "Sleeper" gaming machines. The name represents the hidden, unexpected potential within seemingly ordinary components.

We want to level the playing field and lower the barriers to entry that prevent people from joining the PC gaming space.
